Dear Friend,
Welcome to this Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, issue of CHAKRASM. In this Paperback Writer issue we want to give you The Word to get you to Twist and Shout and moving into action! We kick off with an exciting "opening track" which is sure to go straight to the top of anyone's chart with the announcement of a new face on the team as Marsha Freidman joins Third Eye! Come Together by Richard Courtney and George Cassidy looks at the business wisdom of the Beatles. Ever though using video in your marketing collateral was expensive and only for the big boys? Well, Hope Daily of Guerilla Media shares with us why video should be Here, There and Everywhere. Jason Fell gives us his tips to raise money in a tight economy in Money (That's What I Want). April was tax month and so it was in the 60's and we learn the story behind Taxman the 1966 classic by George Harrison. As always, no issue of CHAKRASM would be complete without a "Wise Quack" from The Donald this time with a little help from his friend John Lennon plus, Mr. Bevan gives us the benefit of his wisdom in his final thought.
- No you're not a Day Tripper, there is a theme running through this issue
Well, what are you waiting for?
Enjoy the Magical Mystery Tour!

Introducing Marsha Freidman
Just like the Fab Four, Third Eye surrounds itself with only the best and is therefore proud to "Shout" that Marsha Freidman is joining our group!

Come Together: The Business Wisdom of the Beatles by Richard Courtney and George Cassidy
|
|
In this excerpt from their new book Come Together: The Business Wisdom of the Beatles, authors Richard Courtney and George Cassidy discuss how Paul did what every good leader tries do with a failing enterprise, change the strategy to save the business.
When the company begins a downward spiral, someone must take control. That person must have the best interests of the company as top priority, and the welfare of the members as a secondary focus. However, there are limits to what that person can accomplish if he attempts to manufacture a return to the good old days, especially from the top down. Esprit de corps must come from shared goals, and new circumstances call for new ways of working--and new ways of leading.

Here, There and Everywhere: or Why Should You Use Video? by Hope Daley
|
|
Video has dominated entertainment, advertising and living rooms for the last 80 years. Now video is rapidly taking over the internet and cell phone markets as well, not only changing the way we
entertain ourselves but also the way we communicate and do business. Even though we have new, innovative and ever evolving ways to watch videos, the video itself has not changed much. Proof positive video has not only staying power but is the best and most relative way to communicate, experience, and send your message. It's fun, enjoyable, and engaging, the most important thing is it requires little or no effort from the viewer.

"Money (That's What I Want)" Tips to Raise Money in a Tight Economy by Jason Fell
|
|
From purchasing equipment to paying a web developer and beyond, the costs of launching a business can quickly add up. So can growing a business. Let's face it, hiring skilled people and investing in the right technology doesn't come cheap, either.
Unless you're independently wealthy, entrepreneurs usually have to hit the banking and investor circuits in search of loans and other startup funds.
It can be a tough task, especially when the credit markets freeze up like they have during the recession.

Do You Want To Know a Secret? - Your Business e-mail Address and Business Card
Do you realize that people judge you by your e-mail address? Well, a recent survey by USA Today found that 82% of respondents judged people negatively because of their e-mail address. If you are one of many who have an aol, yahoo, Comcast, or gmail address that you use for business purposes then you should really consider your own business domain name to be taken seriously by a lot of your prospective customers. A non-business e-mail address may be the reason you get No Reply.
Does your business card have Vistaprint on the back? Does it have nothing on the back? Is it on the lowest quality card stock you could find? It you answered "yes" to any of these questions then you are not creating the right impression of you and your business. If you answered "yes" to all of these questions I suggest you visit your nearest printer and remedy the situation!
Remember, first impressions count, and that applies to your business card and your e-mail address.
